I walked into the building this morning totally confident and calm and then it was time to see client number 1 and suddenly nervous. Once I sat down, it melted away only to return the second I walked out of the room to let said client read some things. BUT I DID IT!! Now, how in the world do I do it again AND be useful!?!?!

31 More Days
There are so many things that I didn't accomplish this year. Like cooking and losing weight. I need to go sign up for my pole classes which I will do tomorrow because it is my day off and this is stupid. I have spent a year holding my self accountable for all of my nonsense and I still just kind of shrug it off. I am not able to motivate my self with letting myself down as the consequence. It just doesn't happen unfortunately. Maybe with more time? I'll have to give it some more thought.
December arrived wet and with a high of 76 degrees. Christmas time is not supposed to be this Floridian but as my sister keeps saying: "it's El NiƱo." (Whatever that means, I don't actually know.)
December means that I have roughly thirty more days of being a lead at work and I couldn't be more excited to give the reigns back to people who want to control things. I'll stick to sweeping. It also means that school is just around the proverbial corner and it brings light to the cruel truth that I did not save the money I was supposed to save. Yes I have some of it but for 7 months worth of saving, it's deplorable. December will hopefully see me get the rest of my life in order. I should have my lease signed and turned in by the end of this week which I am going to be congratulating myself for by going to see Hunter Hayes. Now if only I could clean my room.

We Did It
Catherine posted this on my Facebook a while back and of course I immediately saved it. Positivity AND Hunter? That basically sums up my life.
I post it today because she was right. I can do this. And by this I mean raise enough money (AND help someone else raise enough money) in order to dance. I have surpassed my original goal and I have raised 600 dollars so far! I will get that last 150 so help me lord!
I got word a few hours ago that my soon to be dance-buddy raised enough money to be invited to the event!! This is so exciting because she has never experienced DM and I really didn't want to experience it alone!
Of course I had help with these. It took people to raise this money. People and generosity. But Kate and I had determination on our side and we accomplished our goal!
Things I was also able to accomplish today? Laundry. I also (finally) went down and deposited my paychecks from Disney and went and found the rest of the supplies for the birthday party this weekend. Successful day is successful.

Two Steps Forward
I worked toward a few of my goals today by completing assignment after assignment after assignment for my practicum class. I have one more that I have to start working on in order to be completely finished but I'm sure it will be easy. I also booked my test date for the G.R.E. EEEKKKK!!
This upcoming week will consist of catching up from two weeks ago and then going home to see my nephews! I can't wait to see them and also be able to go back to work at the store while I'm home.

Success Versus Failure
So i think that this quote is pretty relevant to this post. In essence, the quote means that neither success nor failure is final. They both can change and it all depends on what we do next. The choices and decisions we make we make will result in either continued success of continued failure.
After yesterday being full of disappointments I decided that I wanted today to be successful. I wanted to got to class, eat better, and start my physical therapy outside session exercises today. And I s successful until around 530.
I went to my 9 am class and continued to be productive through out my five hour work day. I started to set up some community service projects and looked into internships for the summer which is detrimental to my educational future. I ate a better lunch too! After work I went and spent an hour doing all of my mandatory exercises for my ankle. These exercises are not fun, at all. They are actually really difficult due to my background as a drummer and a horseback rider but I'll make a post about the exercises in particular after my next physical therapy session.
All of that was the successful part of my day. Then I came home and gave in to temptation to buy food that was bad for me. Lots of it. My saving grace of the day was *finally* cleaning off and remaking my bed.

Stairs to Success

I have no idea who to credit for that quote but I first saw it on the back of one of the students' t-shirts. I saw it and thought "That is kind of fantastic, I need to blog about that." So here we are. No elevator to success. And that's probably a good thing. Working towards success and trying over and over and over again to get what you want can be a very rewarding (and tiring) experience. If we didn't have to put our efforts towards what we wanted everything would be meaningless. That sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a task successfully can't be matched by someone just handing it you. Yes, having a direct path or line to success makes everything much easier but is it really success at that point? Is having something or being able to do something that easy a success or is that just an ability or luck? I'm sure I would get tons of differing opinions on that if I were to ask it in a public place but it's a interesting question to pose. What is success?
My answer to that question is accomplishing something that you want to accomplish to the fullest extent and by the means you wish to accomplish it. If finding the so called elevator to success is what you want to accomplish then by all means go find it. But aren't you taking the stairs to that anyway?
