She's So Lucky

I had the day off! Again!
So Peter and I grabbed some lunch (it was awful) and then I had a mini mental breakdown after we watched the Entourage movie because my computer refused to work for the project I had to complete today.

I finished them (and my notes and my file swap) but it all just sucked. Lots of tears and freaking out and getting mad but I finished making the videos.

You Gotta Fight

I totally forgot to do a blog yesterday. I am a failure.

Actually, that's not entirely true. We woke up around 11am, bummed around until 2, went to have lunner with Peter's parents, and then I had to go to work until midnight so yeah.

Candy Girl

Work and tests and stress. And then I convinced Matt and Ilysa to want to go to  Sugar Factory with me eventually. We are literally planning birthday parties that won't happen until November. I'm excited.

Peter is sleeping over tonight because we wanted to go get Chipotle for dinner. Woo.

And I'm Pins and I'm Needles

Today kicks off "make my own dinner" week. I tried to emulate the Carrabba's herb grilled chicken entree. I was mildly successful. I adjusted the recipe below so that cilantro and lime were replaced by oregano and garlic. I burns the chicken a little bit but Peter liked it for the most part so it must have been somewhat good. Tomorrow is burgers and homemade fries and then we'll go from there :)

I Just Want You to Know

That A) that was the first song that played when I opened the music app and B) I have discovered a way to spend 11 dollars a day at Publix for breakfast and lunch.

I'm not sure if this goes against my whole "eating things I cook" but I don't count it as fast food for going out to eat so in counting it as progress.

Holly Jolly Christmas

And I'll also write this tomorrow when I am actually conscious because today has been a very long day.

Today started around 8 in the morning which isn't necessarily early but when you go to bed at like... 1:30 it is a little difficult. My nephew ran in and said "Kate! Kate! Wake up, it's Christmas!" like your average 6 year old should and then we all walked down stairs to open all the gifts that Santa brought us. I'm not going to sit here and list all of the nonsense that I was gifted but I will say that everything is useful except for the massive box of chocolate.

The big deal was my nephew's first video game console which is a Wii U and he sat there and played for 6 hours AND wouldn't let me leave because he "needed [my] help to defeat the bad guys." He was playing Skylanders, bad guys aren't really bad guys. Anyway, I had to sit there and help his little 6 year old brain figure out how to work it and what all the buttons do and what the point of the goals are. THIS IS SO MUCH MORE EXHAUSTING THEN YOU WOULD THINK! I don't understand how teachers can teach children anything because he did not want to learn. He just wanted to be able to do. We figured it out though, just in time for me to start getting ready for the big dinner.

Most years we invite the section of the family that we don't see on Christmas Eve over for dinner on Christmas day which we did this year as well. We mingled and had a really awesome dinner for a combined five and a half hours which is interesting because there were only 8 people in the house. Never the less, we shared stories of holidays passed and we talked about my mom. Those topics weren't necessarily Christmas-y but they were definitely entertaining!

I hope everyone else had good Christmas! Now if we can all get though New Year's we should all be golden.

Stress, Sleep, Repeat

I will open every Sunday for the rest of the year and that it totally fine with me. What I am not prepared for are the crazy hours and amounts of people that are about to come pouring in. On top of the stress I already have from work and the big move that is going to be here so much quicker than I know it, now more stress is about to come from higher guest counts. I will find a way. I will figure out how to balance  guest servicing and tasking and trending and accountabilitying and Merlin knows what else.

Today I got to see Catherine!! Yesterday was her birthday and I heard she had tons of fun! Today I went over to her house to make apple crisp stuff which was yummy and to watch like 4 hours do food network shows. We're fantastic.

An Impromptu Adventure

Even though I knew that I would be hanging out with Kayla today, we didn't exactly plan out our day so after I was collected we kind of twiddled our thumbs in search of things to do.

We started our day with a trip to the bank and then we headed to Channelside/Ybor to find food items. After an okay lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings we got lost in a sketchy neighborhood and then somehow found our way to the Florida Aquarium. I've been there tons of times but one thing I've never actually done is watch the dive show or visit the penguins! Kayla and I can cross that off the list though as we did get to do that today!

Afterwards we went to find dinner and I directed her to EATS! American Grill which is delicious if I must say. We had Mac'N'Cheese fritters the size of our fists, entrees, and then split a deep fried Oreo sundae to finish the day. So good!

I'm so glad I got to see her today as she is one of the girls I don't get to see too often! SUZY TUESDAY WITH CATHERINE TOMORROW!

So It's Tuesday

Not really. I didn't post on time and now, at 11 o'clock the next day, I'm going to write something that feels like a post. Three months ago I would have flipped out about missing a day and slacking on the blog as much as I have been. I *HAVE * to find more motivation to finish this year out.

I was supposed to catch up on storyline challenge and pick a point to restart ab challenge from but I didn't. I did catch up on Teen Wolf because I was up at 8:15 in the morning and it was on the DVR. This season isn't as enthralling as the last seasons and I'm not sure where it is all leading to.

Suzy Tuesday was tons of fun as usual! I was able to help Catherine get her allergy stuff and then I was able to experience the glorious-ness that is Taco Son (> Taco Bus) which is now my second favorite Mexican place ever. Then we went craft supply shopping, got ice cream, and then might have planned a vacation to Universal Studios... Maybe...

I really need to call Alexis back and open my savings account. And drive.

Festivities on Friday

Fridays are also for friends. I was able to see both Ilana and Amanda today and the sad part is that I actually forgot about it at one point and went to make plans with Alexis and then I remembered and I fail at life. Anyways, I got to go to the mall with Ilana and we went to see "22 Jump Street" which was definitely entertaining. Then we wondered around, bought some accessories, and eventually found our way to Charlotte Russe where we both purchased outfits. Loved seeing her today and can't wait to see her again before she leaves!!

Next up on the list was going to Amanda's house which is always chalk full of giggles and yelling. First we had to go to Walmart to find dinner and supplies for the work skit tomorrow. WE SPENT TWO HOURS LOOKING FOR AN IRON MAN MASK AND WE NEVER FOUND ONE AND IM JUST SO MAD.
Anyway, we finally found something that could work and then we came home and watched season 4 of "True Blood" and made dinner. I cooked the biscuits and the green beans. She cooked the rest.
